I’m sure everyone has similar problems with adjusting in
situations like starting college. What I didn’t do was prepare for anything
college related until last minute. Summer was supposed to last forever and I figured
there was plenty of time to finish all the things that needed to be done. I seriously
regret not preparing for what I was jumping into it and being so blind.
I realized on the first week of going to college that it
would be my very top priority, not needing to worry about my job, socializing
with old friends, or just having down time. Which everyone reading this is
probably thinking “obviously?” My experience in the last two years of highschool weren't much, I just took regular classes and didn't try hard at all.
Now that we’re almost through with the third week, regular
classes are running more smoothly. Things aren’t so dark in my future and I’m
starting to look further ahead. The campus doesn’t seem as massive as the first
week of college (though the stairs still suck) and I don’t need to look at signs to find out where something
is.
College is a lot different from highschool. The adjusting is the worst part but once everthing about it is somewhat familiar, then it gets easier, at least that's how it works for me.
