The Game

This past Saturday I attended the Texas State Football game and was quite excited to attend my first Texas State game as a Texas State student.  I expected it to be a well fought game from the descriptions and hopes that my older brother (a Texas State graduate) and my father who purely loves the game.  They were quite optimistic, but did leave some room for slight doubt that the game may not end in favor of the bobcats.  As my brother and I (yes my twin) surveyed the student section of the stands for two open seats I was a little nervous as to how the game would end up.  I was slightly shocked to find that my ambitions were growing as the start of the game got ever closer. But after the first series of the game I felt confident that the bobcats could pull off a win and after the end of the first quarter I was confident that they could pull off an impressive win of 50-0 if they so wanted to.
I only had one problem with any action that I saw happening at the game and I am proud to say that this action was not perpetrated by a bobcat but by our opponent.  And to make it worse it was one of the coaches for the panthers.  When a play would not go his way this large man would storm onto the field yelling what I assumed to be obscenities at his own players.  Being  a former player myself (good times) this bothered me that a coach would do such a thing.  As a player you want to please your coach and do right by them and I am sure that the panther players were doing all that they legally could to stop the bobcats but simply couldn't. As a coach you would want your players to be focused and ready but over all calm.  This particular coach was making his players angry which would make them more likely to do wrong making him madder and louder. This is a vicious cycle that all coaches should avoid.
But in the end it was a successful night for the Bobcats who were handily victorious with a satisfying 28-3 end of game score. I look forward to going to the remainder of the home games and cheering with excitement. EAT EM UP!!!!
